This article features a collection of chairs inspired by abstract watercolor paintings. The designer behind the project, Donna Wilson, used her 2D watercolor paintings of colorful, abstract shapes, and transformed them into 3D forms by using wood. These chairs caught my eye because of the colorful and playful vibe of the shapes, and it reminded me of how Jacob mentioned in class that sometimes, abstract art can look like a kid created it. However, if you look closely (or read the article about the process of making the chairs), you’ll see that this project actually required a lot of thought and detail as to how each of the shapes and colors would fit next together.
