I came across this striking photo essay and immediately wanted to share it with the class. These photos are incredibly captivating and show a new perspective of the pandemic that frequently gets looked over in the mainstream news and media. Often, I find myself only focusing on the heavy weight of the pandemic. This essay captures hope and resilience through different facial expressions and emotions. I am struck by the range of people and places exhibited in this essay (ranging from Vienna to Nigeria to Brazil). To me this series of photos is humanizing and I believe it creates a sense of unity among the world- even during a global crisis.
