Looking at these cross section cutaways reminded me of our speculative design project and readings. In the Nature of Representation reading we learned about how symbols have associated meaning and these schematic xray diagrams give the initial impression of explaining how something works. However, upon closer inspection they instead reveal the milestones and key figures in a particular sport, technology, or art.
