Check out this article for an introduction to Brazilian artist Raysa Fontana’s work. Her drawings pose a striking style, composition, color palette, and overall aesthetic. To me, they evoke a combined sense of solitude and darkness with childhood and playfulness. In Fontana’s own words: “Drawing is a way of getting a deep dive inside my thoughts and having a break from the external chaos in which we’ve been living. The unconscious ends up flowing on the lines and colors and it allows me to take deep breaths and have some sort of hope.” Enjoy a sample of Fontana’s work through the link above!
