This article discusses how the Designs for Different Futures exhibition, organized by the Walker Art Center, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago, features designs that are meant to shape the future by questioning what kinds of futures we want to build for ourselves. This reminds me of our reading of Speculative Everything, as Anthony Dunne and Fiona Raby’s concept of speculative design revolves around the idea of design as a way to envision and create better futures.
