I was looking through the loading animations on the awwwards website and came across this one. It looked really simple to me and wondered why it was deemed special! Upon a closer look, I realized that the way the fingers are counting through 1-5 is unusual. When people count “1” the pointer finger is almost always used. Instead, the thumb is used in this animation. In addition, “3” is usually made with a combination of the index, middle, and ring finger. In the animation, the thumb, index, and middle finger are used. I realized that the reason why I thought it wasn’t special at first was because it just happened to be on the frame counting “2.” I think the artist made a subtle, but unique change to the animation and this is what caught my eye.
