These paintings immediately drew my eye; they capture so much detail. They particularly remind me of our invisible cities project. However, what I consider when analyzing these is their composition. I always try to focus the eye on only a handful of things at most, but this work pulls me all over and back again. It is its only micro-world with so much to see. Yet, it is still pleasing to the eye. Vanhomwegen’s work has helped me reconsider the different sides to developing a good composition.
