Number of Pixels Used in These Photos Is the Number of Animals Left of Each Species Featured

The World Wildlife Fund Japan teamed up with numerous creative directors to create a series known as “Population by Pixel.” The goal of this series was to exhibit the remaining number of endangered species by using pixels to represent how many animals are still alive. Although not a recent collaboration, this series is an example of using data as a medium for creating art while also promoting an important social message.
