Animated Paper Video Games

While browsing the Tiny Monuments assignment, I looked at other art pieces created with paper. These series of stop animation using paper cut out are giving me ideas for the upcoming project. Link. This photo above is from another article show casing map cut outs which remind of a framed art piece with a similar…

Creating Art with Code

On the topic of computer-generated artwork, I found this blog with cool examples that I wanted to share. I think creating art with code is also interconnected with data visualization which I think is very important thing to learn to bridge the gap between big data and the humans that need to understand and use…

Human Interface Guidelines

This is more techy but I still thought it would be nice to share! I was checking out guidelines that many big companies have where they provide information and UI resources for designing great apps that integrate seamlessly with their platforms. Google’s particularly stood out to me due to the fact they try to make…

Artists Get Graphic About How To Deal With The Coronavirus

While doing some research on PSA Posters, I stumbled upon a lot of PSA Posters made during the pandemic that I ,unfortunately, missed but am glad to see have been documented on the internet. I really like the use of color in many of these posters and the animations that were incorporated as well. Article….

Loading Animations that are worth the wait.

I was looking at some loading animations for inspiration and wanted to share. There are so many creative and unique loading animations to draw ideas from, and I’m excited to see what people in this class come up with. How the curvaceous structure complements yoga formation, it reminded me of our first field gestalt project as well as inspiration for the invisible cities project. I hope to incorporate the spirit of the city I choose within my design as this structure…

Ikea Fashion

This week’s Ikea-like manual project reminded me of an old trend: making clothes from Ikea’s 99 cent reusable bags. Design-wise, I think they are incredible and I found this article with a bunch of individual’s creative works. Honestly, I loved it then and I love it now. I recently learned that Ikea sells a bucket…

Artists in the time of Coronavirus

I thought this virtual exhibition was extremely fitting for the times. The attached piece is my favorite of the bunch – the use of lines to create shadow is super intriguing and reminded me of the technique that some pieces in class use. I like the crosshatching in the back to create a darker shade.

The Process Behind Designing a Brand

Kel Lauren is a YouTuber that I’ve been following for a while now, she does graphic design and a bunch of other fun things, and this is her most recent video on designing a hard seltzer brand from scratch. It is super informative, and I really love how she designed the brand based on how…
