In collaboration with David Zwirner’s “Offsite” location space, Diana Thater has launched Yes, there will be signing: a sound and light installation which can only be experienced digitally. It is made visible by a multichannel livestream video feed via the David Zwirner website. I am compelled by the intention to create online-only art-viewing, which heightens a sense of inclusion and likeness of experience for all viewers during times of COVID-19, for instance. The title of the exhibition refers to a Bertolt Brecht poem, in which the following is written:
“In the dark times, will there also be singing?
Yes, there will be singing. About the dark times.”
