Artist Nathalie Miebach uses data that she collects (as well as some data from the internet) from storms to create intricate sculptures that represent the data. In her TED Talk, Natalie explains that her sculptures “reveal behavioral relationships that may not come across through a two-dimensional graph.” After making the sculptures, she then uses the sculptures to create musical compositions that stem from the storm data collected. Nathalie also explains in her TED talk that her sculptures are interpreted differently by different audiences: artists may see it as a sculpture, scientists may see it as a visualization or data, and musicians may see it as a musical score. Her work is really quite fascinating. Linked below are her TED Talk and another video covering her projects.
