On Repeat: How to Use Loops to Explain Anything

I was looking to some articles about looping loading icons and came across this one that explores some of the history behind short repeating animations. I find it interesting to see how far we have progressed from paper phenakistoscopes all the way to digital animation. The article then goes on to explain how useful looping animations are in communicating information in things such as diagrams and schematics.
